Wer als Mutter oder Vater eine Krebsdiagnose erhält, steht vor der schwierigen Aufgabe, den Kindern die Krankheit und mögliche Folgen zu erklären. Abhängig vom Alter der Kinder können mal mehr oder weniger detaillierte Informationen über die Diagnose geteilt werden. Die richtigen Worte dafür zu finden ist nicht leicht. Wir haben mit zwei Patientinnen gesprochen und sie nach ihren persönlichen Erfahrungen gefragt. Doris erhielt vor 6 Jahren die Diagnose invasiv duktales Mammakarzinom — Brustkrebs. Dieser wuchs seit einem Jahr von ihren Ärzten unerkannt. Schon vor der endgültigen Diagnose hatten ihre Kinder zu diesem Zeitpunkt 17 und 19 Jahre alt vom Knoten in ihrer Brust erfahren. Doch die ärztliche Diagnose schwarz auf weiß war für alle ein Schock. Sonja erhielt ihre Brustkrebs-Diagnose vor fünf Jahren. Sie hatte ein dreifach negatives Mammakarzinom. Ihre beiden Kinder waren damals 3 und 1,5 Jahre alt und die Familie hatte sich so sehr auf den Einzug in das frisch renovierte Haus gefreut. Welche Gedanken gingen euch durch den Kopf, als ihr die Diagnose bekamt. Der Tumor war über ein Jahr gewachsen und ich wusste natürlich wie wichtig eine Früherkennung ist. Am Anfang ging ich erst einmal davon aus, dass der Tumor inzwischen längst gestreut hat und ich nicht mehr lange leben werde. Gerade weil ich als ehemalige Krankenschwester weiß, was es bedeutet, wenn Krebs weiter fortgeschritten ist. Sonja: Also ganz frei raus: Scheiße. Ich dachte an meine Kinder und daran, vielleicht nicht mehr ihre Einschulung zu erleben. Diese Art Krebs kannte man damals aus biologischer Sicht noch nicht gut und die Prognosen waren schlecht. Das hat sich jetzt zum Glück im Laufe der Zeit verbessert. Haben eure Kinder von der Krankheit mitbekommen. Habt ihr ihnen davon erzählt. Doris: Ich habe es ihnen direkt gesagt. Ich bin einfach der Meinung, dass es besser krebs krebs partnerschaft, wenn man es gleich sagt und nicht versucht, irgendetwas unter den Teppich zu kehren oder jemanden zu schonen. Irgendwie kommt das doch meistens raus. Ich finde, man macht sich mehr Sorgen, wenn man nicht genau weiß, was los ist. Als ich operiert wurde, mussten wir ihnen meine Abwesenheit erklären. Wir haben ihnen gesagt, dass sie besonders vorsichtig sein müssen hinterher. Ich habe ihnen dann auch erklärt, dass da was in meiner Brust gewachsen ist was da nicht hingehört. Weil der Knoten deutlich fühlbar war, habe ich sie ihn auch ertasten lassen. Ich habe ihnen dann erklärt, dass das raus muss, weil es mich sonst sehr krank macht. Habt ihr euch speziell auf das Gespräch vorbereitet oder euch vorher informiert, etwa bei einem Arzt. Weil meine Diagnose erst nach einem Jahr gestellt wurde, musste wirklich alles sehr schnell gehen. Ich bekam morgens eine Mammografie und wurde von dort direkt ins Brustzentrum geschickt. Dort sagten die Ärzte mir, dass es Krebs ist. So blieb keine Zeit, um mich irgendwie vorzubereiten. Es ging alles sehr, sehr schnell und die Kinder haben das damals auch gleich so mitbekommen. Nach drei Tagen war klar, dass es definitiv Krebs ist und behandelt werden muss. Es folgten viele weitere Untersuchungen und ich holte mir noch eine Zweitmeinung in Heidelberg ein. Meine Kinder bekamen alles mit, weil ich auch alle Informationen mit ihnen teilte. Sonja: Ja, ich musste mir erst einmal drüber klar werden, wie ich das Ganze meinen kleinen Kindern überhaupt vermitteln kann. Im Internet habe ich dann versucht rauszufinden, wie man so etwas den Kindern erklärt. Das war damals noch viel schwieriger, als heute. Von den Ärzten habe ich diesbezüglich kaum Hilfe bekommen. Sie waren an Fakten interessiert und sprachen nur über Behandlungsabläufe. Allerdings halfen mir meine Besuche bei Psychoonkologen. Sie empfahlen mir auch Literatur, die sich an Kinder richtet, die selbst an Krebs erkrankt sind und denen die Erkrankung erklärt werden sollte. Gab es etwas, das ihr für euch behalten wolltet. Doris: Abgesehen von meinen Ängsten eigentlich nicht. Ich habe das schon alles mit den Kindern immer besprochen. Sie waren immer auf dem gleichen Wissensstand wie ich. Das habe ich aber nur so gemacht, weil sie zu diesem Zeitpunkt schon größer waren, keine Kinder im Schulkinderalter. Ich habe immer über alles sehr offen gesprochen. Sonja: Ich hatte wirklich sehr viel Angst, dass etwas schief geht, die Behandlung vielleicht nicht greift oder ich meine Kinder nicht aufwachsen sehe. Das sollten sie nicht mitbekommen. Ich wollte natürlich, dass sie so unbeschwert wie möglich aufwachsen, gerade weil sie da noch so klein waren. Das half mir aber wiederum und machte mich irgendwie leichter. Ich musste jeden Tag funktionieren und so habe ich sie auch jeden Tag in den Kindergarten gebracht, selbst während der Chemo-Zeit. Zwar musste ich dann teilweise etwas langsamer machen, aber es hat mir unheimlich geholfen, dass ich einfach in meinem Alltag bleiben musste. Von den Behandlungen haben sie nichts mitbekommen, lediglich dass ich mich äußerlich veränderte haben sie gemerkt. Wie genau lief dein Gespräch mit deinen Kindern ab, Sonja. Hast du es mit den Kindern einzeln geführt oder mit ihnen zusammen. Sonja: Ich habe mit beiden Kindern gleichzeitig gesprochen, weil sie im ähnlichen Alter sind. Und ich habe alleine mit ihnen gesprochen, weil ich wissen wollte, wie sie reagieren. Außerdem wollte ich nicht, dass noch jemand dabei ist, der vielleicht dazwischen spricht. Wir haben uns eine gemütliche Ecke gesucht und ich habe ihnen erklärt, dass da was ist, was raus muss und habe das einfach mal im Krebs krebs partnerschaft stehen lassen. Dass ich krank war und Medikamente bekommen habe, und die Haare deshalb ausgefallen sind. Und manchmal wollte ich auch einfach mit mir alleine sein. Ich habe freitags immer die Chemo bekommen und es hat ungefähr eine Woche gedauert, bis es mir besser ging. Erst danach konnte ich wieder Einkaufen fahren — alleine. Und ich bin auch oft alleine in den Wald gefahren, spazieren gegangen und hing meinen Gedanken nach. Auch das war von mir gewählt. Welche Tipps habt ihr für andere, die vielleicht in einer ähnlichen Situation sind. Doris: Ich kann nur für mich selbst sprechen, aber für uns war das in Ordnung. Für uns war es richtig, dass wir offen kommuniziert und darüber gesprochen haben. Ich glaube, jeder muss irgendwie das Gefühl dafür haben, wie er damit umgeht. Es gibt Frauen, die ohne Brustprothese zum Beispiel nie Zuhause die Tür aufmachen würden oder die sich während der Chemo nicht ohne Perücke ihren Kindern zeigen würden. Das muss aber jeder immer für sich selber entscheiden. Für uns war es der richtige Weg, damit offen umzugehen. So war es auch für mich leichter und ich glaube, auch für meine Kinder. Als ich klein war, erkrankte meine Mutter bereits an Krebs und ich erinnere mich daran, ein Gespräch belauscht zu haben. Ein Verwandter sagte damals, dass Menschen mit Krebs sowieso alle sterben müssen. Das war für mich als Kind ganz, ganz schlimm, weil sonst nicht viel darüber gesprochen wurde. Deswegen war es krebs krebs partnerschaft immer wichtig, recht offen damit umzugehen. Sonja: Ich finde es wichtig, sich immer auszutauschen, sich andere Betroffene zu suchen und nach Selbsthilfemöglichkeiten zu suchen. Es hat sich in den letzten fünf Jahren wirklich sehr viel getan, insbesondere für jüngere Patienten. Es gibt zahlreiche Vereine, Initiativen krebs krebs partnerschaft auch Blogs für Krebspatienten und auch für die Kinder von Erkrankten, die sehr hilfreich sein können. Ja, ich rate dazu, wirklich darüber zu reden. Das ist für die eigene Psyche unheimlich wichtig und auch dass das eigene Umfeld keine Angst hat, den Erkrankten auf den Krebs anzusprechen fand ich sehr wertvoll.


Diese Sternzeichen sollten sich niemals daten
Das würde eine gesunde Portion Objektivität, Distanz zu Gefühlen beziehungsweise Realismus hineinbringen. Die Gefühlsschwankungen werden leicht auf den anderen übertragen und dadurch verstärkt. Man sollte ihn keinesfalls bedrängen. Kann der Krebs auch eigenständig sein? Der eine oder andere fühlt sich dann schnell eingeengt.
